We are currently seeking a talented, experienced WordPress Designer/Developer with SEO skills to join a small but talented creative team at our office in St Asaph, North Wales. We provide responsive WordPress website design and development plus WooCommerce platforms along with digital marketing strategies for a wide range of clients across various industries.
You must have WordPress and WooCommerce design and development expertise and also be able to optimise website performance for keywords and phrases by implementing SEO best practices. Enhancing search engine performance for targeted keywords and utilising online tools for monitoring and reporting will be second nature to you.
As our Website Manager, you will be working on existing sites and building new websites from scratch, optimising them for maximum speed and scalability. You will also take charge of any website performance, plugins, integrations, hosting, maintenance and be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
This is a demanding role but an exciting opportunity for the right individual. You must be able to work unsupervised, so a good understanding of graphic design and typography is important in order to maintain creative quality.
You must be able to commute to our office in St Asaph, North Wales.
Duties include
Website Design & Development
- Collaborate with clients to meet project requirements
- Build website pages in WordPress using a Pagebuilder (Elementor)
- Implement bespoke functions using basic PHP
- Use CSS to develop the style of page content
- Create contact forms, implement bespoke notifications and confirmations
- Integrate third-party software into WordPress websites
- Add website security via Plugin
- Add bespoke layouts to WordPress pages using Custom Fields via Plugin (ACC or Pods)
- Staying on top of innovation in the WordPress marketplace
Website Hosting & Monitoring
- Staging websites before updates or development work
- Updating website plugins and testing. Push updates to the live sites
- Logging into website hosting, initialising website caching, and CDN when needed
- Creating Cronjobs, email accounts, bespoke htaccess files per website
- Deploying website development projects to live
- Troubleshooting server issues with server support
SEO
- Have good knowledge of using SemRush
- Keyword phrase research
- Create website SEO audit reports
- Implement all aspects of Technical SEO
- Implement all aspects of On-page SEO
- Implement all aspects of Off-page SEO including backlinks
- Competitor research and keyword phrase monitoring
- Staying on top of SEO innovation
Skills and Education
- 5 GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent, including English and Maths
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Self-starter and proactive
- Able to manage tasks and time independently
- Solution orientated with attention to detail
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, and WordPress content management systems (CMS)
- Knowledge of PHP or Javascript is not essential but an advantage
- Experienced in SEO principles and strategies
- Proficient in website analytics tools i.e. Google Analytics
- Strong problem-solving skills and able to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- A minimum of two years agency experience in a similar role
