Environmental Policy
Our commitment
Rowe & Bear recognises that every business has a responsibility to consider its impact on the environment.
As a business growth agency, our direct environmental impact is relatively limited compared with businesses operating in manufacturing, construction or other resource-intensive industries. However, we recognise that our day-to-day operations, purchasing decisions, travel and use of digital technology all have an environmental impact.
We are committed to operating responsibly and taking practical, proportionate steps to reduce that impact wherever reasonably possible.
Our approach
We aim to consider environmental responsibility as part of the way Rowe & Bear operates and makes business decisions. Our approach focuses on reducing unnecessary consumption, making responsible purchasing decisions and continually looking for practical opportunities to improve the environmental performance of our business.
Reducing waste
We aim to minimise unnecessary waste across our operations by reducing consumption, reusing equipment and materials where practical and recycling wherever appropriate facilities are available. As a predominantly digital business, we also aim to minimise unnecessary printing and paper use.
Responsible purchasing
Where practical, we consider durability, efficiency and environmental impact when purchasing equipment, products and services for the business. We aim to use equipment for its reasonable working life and avoid unnecessary replacement where existing equipment remains suitable for its purpose.
Energy and resources
We encourage responsible use of electricity, heating, water and other resources within our workplace. This includes switching off equipment when it is not required and considering energy efficiency when purchasing or replacing equipment.
Travel and meetings
We recognise that business travel contributes to our environmental impact. Where appropriate, we use telephone calls and video conferencing to reduce unnecessary journeys while continuing to meet clients in person when this provides genuine value to a project or relationship. Where travel is required, we aim to plan journeys efficiently wherever practical.
Digital services
Although digital services reduce the need for many physical materials, websites, cloud services, data storage and digital infrastructure still require energy. We therefore consider website performance and efficiency as part of good web development practice, including optimising images, reducing unnecessary resources and developing websites that perform efficiently.
Suppliers and partners
Where appropriate, we consider environmental responsibility when selecting suppliers, contractors and business partners. We aim to work with reputable organisations and encourage responsible practices throughout the relationships we maintain with suppliers and partners.
Continuous improvement
Environmental responsibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-off commitment. As Rowe & Bear grows, we will continue to review our working practices and identify realistic opportunities to reduce waste, use resources more efficiently and improve our environmental performance. Where new technologies, working practices or suppliers provide practical opportunities to reduce our environmental impact, we will consider how these can be incorporated into our operations.
Responsibility
Responsibility for implementing and reviewing this policy sits with the management of Rowe & Bear. Everyone working with Rowe & Bear is encouraged to consider the environmental impact of their decisions and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary waste and resource use.
Review of this policy
This Environmental Policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where appropriate to reflect changes within our business, working practices and environmental responsibilities.
